Social media and music. Now, social media and shows & movies.
During the past couple of years, you have likely seen many of your friends, family, and followers on any form of social media post their Spotify Wrapped. This brilliant social media campaign created by Spotify insanely became popular and had users share their top artists, songs, albums, and podcasts. It even had some non-Spotify subscribers feeling left out of the party and immediately switching music platforms.
In December 2023, Netflix and Spotify will launch Netflix Wrapped. An exciting new feature to share your yearly data from the many shows that you’ve binged watched on a Friday evening during your Netflix n Chill hours, or the mystery documentaries you couldn’t finish, and the music you can’t get out of your head from your favorite episode on season 4 of Stranger Things. As the popularity of Spotify’s Wrapped has increased, this exciting new collaboration with the two streaming companies will allow people to prove that they are one of the biggest fans on Netflix.
Your Netflix Wrapped will show you a variety of statistics, including:
- Your top shows
- Your top movies
- Your top of genres in shows and movies
- The number of times you’ve spent watching a show and/or movie
- The number of countries your favorite show has been watched in
Netflix Wrapped will also allow users to search-up music featured on their favorite shows and movies and compare their watchlist statistics with a new feature called Netflix Friends.
From the reactions from both Spotify and Netflix users to this new announcement, this will become a smashing hit on social media. It is a great way to entice users to continue using the applications more while gaining new subscribers to join the watch and listening party.
Like Spotify Wrapped, you can easily share your Netflix Watchlist stats by opening your Netflix app, then pressing or clicking your profile image at the top right corner of the screen. From there, tap on “Netflix Wrapped” and then TA-DA! Your yearly watchlist data will appear. At the bottom of the page, you can tap on the share button to choose the platform you want to share on (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, or TikTok).
Connecting audiences online across the world and sharing people’s tastes from different walks of life is what Netflix and Spotify look forward to in the future and beyond.
